St. Joseph’s Mercy Health Center in Hot Springs, Arkansas, was originally
established as St. Joseph’s Infirmary in 1888. In 1991, the 317-bed general
acute care hospital moved to a new, expanded facility. Currently, the hospital
has 1,357 full-time equivalent employees.
Nestled in a valley of the scenic Ouachita Mountains of Arkansas and
surrounded by beautiful lakes and forests, Hot Springs’ natural beauty provides
a perfect backdrop for this vibrant city. Hot Springs is the nation’s only city
located within a National Park. It features impressive Bathhouse Row and the
famous hot water springs from which the city gained its name.
Hotels and spas offering luxurious baths in the spring water are located
within the historic district along with fine restaurants, art galleries, antique
stores, and gift shops.
Recognized for its many cultural offerings including monthly "gallery walk"
receptions in the fine art galleries and outstanding art festivals, Hot Springs
has been designated as a "City of the Arts." Living in Hot Springs is also
affordable, with the average price of a new home well below the national
average. Good schools and big city amenities are other great reasons why so many
who can choose where they live, choose Hot Springs.
