The Sisters of Mercy Health System is committed to protecting the privacy of Mercy Career Center users. State-of-the-art security technology is utilized to ensure that the information you submit to us remains private. See the Security section below for more information.

The information collected on the Mercy Career Center is owned by the Sisters of Mercy Health System. Information about your individual visits or personal information that you submit, such as your name, address, e-mail address, telephone number, personal references, etc., will not be disclosed to any outside parties, except when required by law or to protect the Sisters of Mercy Health System, Mercy Career Center users or others.

Information Collection Methods
The Mercy Career Center is a career site. Users may apply for a specific job or submit general information to express their interest in employment at a Mercy facility. This information is maintained in a database, which is only accessible by designated Mercy employees. All information submitted through Mercy Career Center is secure and protected using SSL encryption as noted in the Security section below.

There are three methods to apply for a job or submit information through the Mercy Career Center:

General Information (Required)
Mercy Career Center users must enter their name and telephone number and select a location and job category to apply for a specific job or express their general interest in a Mercy facility. Additional information fields are presented on the employment application, however completion of them is not required.

Apply for a Job: e-Application
Mercy Career Center provides users the ability to apply for a specific job online by completing an employment application or submitting a resume. Both methods requires that the General Information fields to be completed. The e-Application also includes sections for additional General Information, Education, Work Experience, and Credentials. An Equal Employment Opportunity Questionnaire also is included.

E-mail a Friend
If a user elects to use the Mercy Career Center’s E-mail a Friend feature to tell a friend about a job, we ask for the user’s and friend’s e-mail address. Mercy Career Center will automatically send the friend a one-time e-mail containing the details of a particular job and a message from the user if one was entered. The user or friend may contact the Sisters of Mercy Health System at
mercyjobs@corp.mercy.net to request the removal of this information from their database.

Security
This Web site takes every precaution to protect our users’ information. When users submit sensitive information via the Mercy Career Center, the information is protected both online and off-line.

When information is submitted through the Mercy Career Center, it is encrypted and protected with the encryption software SSL (Secure Socket Layer). To learn more about SSL, visit the VeriSign web site.

While SSL encryption is used to protect sensitive information online, the Sisters of Mercy Health System also does everything in its power to protect user-information off-line. All of our users’ information is restricted, meaning only designated employees are granted access to personally identifiable information. Access to this information requires a user ID and password. Furthermore, employees are educated on our security and privacy practices and understand the importance we place on privacy. All servers housing personally identifiable information on are housed in a secure environment.

Notification of Privacy Policy Changes
Should the Sisters of Mercy Health System change its Privacy Policy, we will post those changes on our Privacy Statement page so users are always aware of what information we collect, how we use it, and under circumstances, if any, we disclose it.

If at any point the Sisters of Mercy Health System decides to use personally identifiable information in a manner different from that stated at the time it was collected, we will notify users by way of an e-mail. Users will have a choice as to whether or not we use their information in this manner. We will use information in accordance with the privacy policy under which the information was collected.
